What we look for

We don’t have hard and fast rules for projects to get involved in, but here are some characteristics of our typical partner.

You Have a way to make political impact.

You have an idea. A technique. Maybe a small organization, or some volunteers.

What you’re doing could scale.

What you’re doing is new, amazing, and could have a huge impact - if only it could grow.

You have traction.

People want what you’re making. You’re able to recruit volunteers, mobilize people to action, or sell services. You may not have a randomized controlled trial, but you can show enthusiasm for what you’re doing (or plan to do) from the people who need it.

You’ve done it before (or are doing it now).

Your background makes you perfectly suited for what you want to do. Or, you’re actually doing it.

You haven’t figured out everything yet.

It’s ok if you don’t have a pretty slide deck, haven’t figured out the right legal structure, or how to put all of the pieces together.

You Have few or no major funders.

But people keep saying to you, “I can’t believe you can’t raise money for this.”
